Quality Manager (Bedford, UK)

Asteelflash is one of the global leaders in Electronic Manufacturing Services with 17 Manufacturing locations (France, the UK, Germany, Tunisia, Czech Republic, China, the USA, and Mexico) and 6,000 employees worldwide. The UK has one site in Bedford with 100+ employees.

 

Today, our Bedford facility (UK) is looking for a Quality Manager.

 

Responsibilities

Quality System

  • Ensures the consistency of the quality system with customers system requirements (Through quality certifications, i.e. ISO and internal audits)
  • Supports the Quality team in their preparation and realization of certification audits

Quality Standards

  • Enforces AFG standards on the plant
  • Contributes to the improvement of Asteelflash Group standards
  • Creates and implements standards specific to his/her site
  • Spreads AFG Quality culture on site (“speak with data”, discipline, respect for rules and deadlines, logical analysis, responsiveness, customer service, active presence on the shop floor)

Quality Reporting & Control

  • Creates and implements relevant reporting tools (indicators, internal audits, audit checklists, quality reviews, roadmaps) needed to manage daily quality performance
  • Ensures that corrective action plans are set up for correcting eventual quality issues
  • Reports regularly to Quality Director quality dashboards
  • Builds up continuous improvement plans and monitors them through periodic management
  • Alerts immediately in case of quality major issue and sets up the necessary precautionary measures (has the authority to stop the production if required)

Customer Quality

  • Ensures that customer quality requirements are known, understood and taken into account
  • Represents the customer within Asteelflash (has the authority to stop production / process that threatens the quality of the delivered products)
  • Is the interface between production sites and customers
    • Negotiation of contracts or quality specifications
    • Reporting to customers
    • Technical meetings with customers…

Operational Quality

  • Supports his/her site on the treatment of their quality problems and sets up the most appropriate tools to solve them quickly (data logic analysis, Pareto, 8D, QRQC- Quick Response Quality Control, FMEA- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, control plans, process control, process audits, action plans)
  • Ensures transversal quality across Asteelflash services and that customers & AFG requirements are known and taken into account
  • Is proactive and drives operational activities in his/her plant (quality projects animation, “best practices”, “benchmarking”)

Budget and Team Management

  • Manages the budget attributed to his/her service
  • Animates quality network (organization, quality coordination meetings, quality tools…)
  • Manages staff (schedules, holidays)
  • Develops team autonomy (flexibility, competences, training plan)
  • Leads appraisal reviews, salary review and career review for his/her team

 

Education/qualification

  • Master’s Degree
  • Quality or/and Industrial specialization
  • Industrial and Management experience required

 

Experience (years & fields)

  • Preferably 5 years in a Quality Management role.
