PROCESS ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN (Bedford, UK)

Today, our Bedford facility (UK) is looking for a Process Engineer.

  • To define, optimize and standardize common processes & specific processes flow in terms of quality, cost, and efficiency
  • To advocate the continuous improvement of defined processes

 

Customer Quotation (CQ)

  • Supports 10.4.1 Leader / 10.5.1 Technician – Project Manufacturing (PME)
    • in specific equipment requirements definition (FMEA- Failure Mode and Effects Analysis product/process, CAPEX-CAPital EXPenditures, NRE-Non Recurring Expenses, Risk analysis, make/buy reports…)
    • in new equipment and tooling quotation (is consulted during the labor quotation and the quotation checklist elaboration)
  • Analyses quality needs and makes a recommendation

 

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Sets up equipment and tooling (SPI, SMT, oven, wave, coating, labels, parts programming, repair equipment, underfill, washing, potting, gluing, router…) (*)
  • Performs tools ordering (NRE & CAPEX) and validation (NRE)
  • Manages subcontracting – Manufacturing and Design services
  • Follows up First Article (FA)
  • Ensures the capability measurements (R&R: Repeatability & Reliability, Cp: Capability Process)
  • Performs NPI report

 

Production and Maintenance

  • Introduces, configures, and defines standard equipment instructions (documents, training…)
  • Defines key process controls characteristics to monitor
  • Supports the mass production
    • Measures cycle time and updates routings
    • Maintains processes and controls
    • Creates workstation/lines
    • Provides technical support for all processes
    • Monitors technology
    • Performs design of experiment (DoE)
    • Defines and validates Poka-Yoke
  • Participates in the statistical processes control (SPC) definition
  • Performs standard FMEA – Failure Mode and Effects Analysis and defines control plan
  • Performs processes improvement (Kaizen, Lean)
  • Identifies obsolete and unused equipment
  • Manages ESD (*)
  • Contributes to tools mechanical shop, plant layout, and equipment capability
  • Participates to plan QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control)
  • Defines and updates process technical sheets according to Corporate standards (key control characteristics, Human Resources qualifications…)
  • Contributes do define and improve the MTBR (Mean Time Between Failure) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
  • Guarantees compliance with the quality and EHS procedures of Asteelflash
  • Performs other duties as directed by his/her manager

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION
EXPERIENCE (YEARS & FIELDS)

  • Master Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
  • Associate/Bachelor Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering with EMS industry experience
  • Similar position in EMS industry with more than 5 years experience
